The Park Pet HAVEN is the name of the 501(c)(3) Non-Profit Charitable Organization I am forming to enable us to better do the work of rescuing, fostering and finding forever homes for Dogs that are in need.  The Park Pet Haven will utilize the facilities The Park Pet Retreat to house and care for the dogs that come our way.  The formation of The Park Pet Haven is a great step forward for The Park Pet Retreat and will allow us to interact with other rescue organizations to relieve some of the burden in fostering the untold numbers of homeless dogs that need our care.  Additionally, we will take responsibility for any dogs we rescue to ensure that they are spayed/neutered, properly vaccinated and receive any necessary medical care. We will make you and the community at large aware of our new organization and the dogs we have that are in need of adoption.  We will use an established application and screening process for potential parents and will collect a reasonable re-homing fee.  Furthermore, we will conduct fundraising events and will solicit tax-deductible donations from the community to enable us to meet the monetary demands for the care and housing of these dogs.  There will also be volunteer and foster opportunities for you as well.

PARK POOCHES that need Forever Homes - We currently have 4 wonderful dogs at The Park who are in need of forever homes.

DOLLY was found tied to the fence next to The Park about 6 weeks ago.  She has been fully vetted and spayed and is in great health.  She is about 3 years old and is a blonde, knee-high beauty.  She is still wary of strangers, but bonds quickly and strongly to those who give her care.

JOSIE was scheduled to be put down the night we rescued her from the Murray County animal shelter where she had been picked up as a stray. Josie is a purebred Boxer with all of the breed traits. However, Josie was not properly cared for so it will be a little while before she will be completely healthy.  Josie is about 5 years old and has had a few litters of puppies.  She is underweight and heartworm positive.  She has begun the lengthy and expensive treatment for heartworms so she will have to be monitored very closely as she goes through this process.  Josie is very shy, but extremely lovable.  One look from her melts your heart. Accepting donations to help with heartworm expense.

SCOUT and his buddy Rascal appeared at the door of The Park just before Christmas.  Scout had a broken rope around his neck and no other identification; he is a handsome boy about 3 years old.  He appears to be an American Bulldog mix, is white with black spots and markings and weighs about 70 pounds.  He is a strong, all-American dog.  He is in good health, was neutered on 12/28 and is heartworm negative. It is obvious he spent his life tied up outside because he is still in awe of the creature comforts he is getting now.  Scout and Rascal spent 3 days during Christmas with me at my home and were perfect gentlemen.  Scout will thrive with a loving, active owner or family.

RASCAL is quite a charmer and loves the world.  He is either a pure Pit Bull or that is the majority of his mix.  His front half is white with gorgeous baby-blue eyes and he has black markings on the rest of his body.  He is in great health, neutered on 12/28 and heartworm negative.  He is extremely playful and strong, so he will need some manners training to make him a wonderful member of your family.  Rascal will certainly attract attention when you walk down the street with him on your leash.

If you would like to meet any of these wonderful dogs just come by The Park and let us know.  Our Adoption Application is attached.  Our re-homing fee is used to cover incurred and future expenses.

GROOMING – A reminder that regular grooming of your longer-hair dogs will greatly eliminate matted fur which can be very painful for your pup as well as a haven for nasty parasites.  Call today and schedule your next appointment.

PRICES – In order to remain competitive (not to mention pay the bills), there will be some very slight price increases in some of our services. The Guest Services list has been updated on that tab. Hopefully you won’t even notice, and I certainly hope you understand.
